God’s Design For Human Sexuality-Sermon #2sermon topic

Sermon _Gods Design for Human Sexuality-part 2-10-11-2015-

“God’s Design for
Human Sexuality”
Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-24

As I dive head-first into this preaching series, as a true Christian and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am compelled to make the following declarations:

  1.  I am of the conviction that God’s Word is true; our final authority in all matters (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

  2.  I admit that not everyone will agree with what I will preach during this series of messages.

  3. I am also acutely aware of the possibility that what will be said will be misconstrued or labeled as being unloving, unkind, and/or narrow-minded.

  4. I am also of the conviction that God hates all sin and not certain sins; and that He loves all people in spite of their sinfulness, and has provide for them a way out of their sinful attitudes and behavior through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

  5. I am further aware of the fact that according to Matthew 28:19-20 and 2 Cor. 5:17, it is the responsibility of Christians to manifest and represent Christ’s Light in this sinfully darkened world; and that part of this involves evangelism (getting people saved), which is the only real cure for sinful behavioral patterns.

  6. I am in agreement with God’s Word in 1 John 3:4-9, which states unequivocally, that those who are truly saved cannot and will not live in a state of sinfulness, regardless of what sin it may be.

FIRST PRINCIPLE: God Designed Human Sexuality for Procreation and Pleasure:

  • Human sexuality is a gift from God (Genesis 1:26-28).

  • God created humans as both male and female (Genesis 1:27-28).

  • God created human sexuality as an expression of sexual intimacy, the unique relationship of one man with one woman (Genesis 2:24).

SECOND PRINCIPLE: God Designed Human Sexuality as Heterosexual and Not Homosexual, Bisexual or Pansexual:

  • God designed sex to take place between a male and female married to each other (Gen. 2:24; Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 5:1-2; 6:9; Heb. 13:4).

THIRD PRINCIPLE: God Designed Human Sexuality To Be Within The Perimeters of Marriage Alone:

  • All non-marital sex is outside the boundaries of God’s will and is therefore wrong and sinful (Deut. 5:18; 1 Thess. 4:3; 1 Cor. 6:18; 7:1-2).

FOURTH PRINCIPLE: God Designed Human Sexuality To Be In A Monogamous and Permanent Marital Relationship:

  • The Biblical ideal is marriage that lasts a lifetime (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:6-9).

FIFTH PRINCIPLE: Prevention Is Our Best Medicine

  • What do Christians need to know, learn, obey and teach? (2 Tim. 2:22; 1 Tim. 5:2; 1 Thess. 4:3; 5:22; Gal. 5:16).

SIXTH PRINCIPLE: What To Do If I’ve Already Violate God’s Design for Human Sexuality:

  • Recognize sin as sin (Rom. 3:23)

  • If not saved, receive Christ now (Rom. 10:9-13)

  •  Realize that God forgives repentant sin (Acts 13:38-39).

  • Receive God’s provision through repentance (1 John 1:9).

  • Commit to live by God’s design (1 Cor. 6:9-11).
